We're just about halfway through Mental Health Awareness Month, and I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Please take a moment to check in with yourself and, without any judgement, notice how your self-care is going so far this month. If there is an area of your self-care that you had hoped to enhance that isn't going as planned, take a moment to reflect on that. This is an invitation for introspection and self-compassion, not an invitation to get down on yourself for what you may perceive as "failures." As there's really no such thing; it's all just more information to make different choices moving forward.
Perhaps the goal you set for yourself doesn't actually fit in to the life you lead right now. Consider how you might be able to adjust this aspect of self-care to realistically work for yourself. How can you set yourself up for success?
Remember that making a commitment to one's own self-care isn't something that we just do once; it's an ongoing process and something that we come back to over and over again. There is a great deal of trial and error and our needs change over time. Thank you for taking this time to reflect on your self-care. May you be well.
